About Us 
Fostering HopeTN, Inc was started by a local Knoxville family in 2013 as a non-profit to meet the needs of children and families from the Child Welfare System. The organization was created to help children in the foster care system feel a sense of hope and self-worth. Many children were moving homes with trashbags as their luggage and once people started hearing about this travesty the community came together to make a difference in these children's lives. The organization provides backpacks, suitcases, and supplies to children who are transitioning from foster homes or who have just entered the system.
Backpacks and suitcases are packed with hygiene items, school supplies, and other essential needs so that children have something they can call their own. Transitioning into foster care is a scary time for many children and a lot of children feel hopeless and tend to see their futures as looking bleak. Fostering Hope TN, Inc wants to give youth in care the sentiment that people care about them and are thinking of their future. The organization is designed to lift the spirits of the children and fill them with hope once again.
Fostering Hope TN, Inc is a Christian-based organization with its foundation rooted in Jeremiah 29:11. The organization has already given out thousands of suitcases and helped hundreds of children move without having to use trash bags, which symbolizes children's feelings of worthlessness. The youth who received these suitcases were grateful for the donations and teenagers were ecstatic to not to move to college with their belongings in trash bags.
Fostering Hope TN, Inc has been advocating for the needs of children in care by spreading the word of fostering and adopting through the Child Welfare System. One of the organization's goals is to raise awareness to the fact that there are over 8,000 children in state's custody in Tennessee. Fostering HopeTN, Inc plans to raise awareness through connections with churches and through local community outreach. The organization will advocate, support, and assist members of the foster care/adoption community through resources and referrals to local agencies. Fostering Hope TN. Inc is designed to build awareness in the community and support youth and families involved with the Child Welfare System.
